"Do You Read Women's Magazines?"
Hello

Some of the articles were so interesting; some were downright sad – in many
modern meanings of the word.
And some…
Were
intentionally titillating – but they weren’t what really caught my eye and
imagination and interest.
Where?
Well
– they were all printed within the pages of one of the women’s magazines my wife
reads from time to time – and the real ‘take-away’ for me were the numerous
promotions on the front page – for articles within the pages to follow.
You
know I’m fascinated by the art and science of persuasion - scrabbling around on
my mental hands and knees doing my damndest to understand why the tick and tock
of human interaction produces so many varied responses.
And so…
When
I saw the teasing words of the front cover I realized a master or mistress of
persuasion had come out to play.
It
would have been so difficult to resist the salted snacks half-promised but not
quite - about the ways to get slimmer, get your man (?), have the life of your
life or the other myriad slightly-made suggestions in such few words.
If ever…
You
were wondering about what to write on the first page of your website;
considering what to include in a special report to be used for lead generation –
or even wishing to slip into something persuasive for a speech or presentation
then look no further than the front of magazines glossy and popular – for there
will be inspiration to craft words so tempting, so curiosity laden, so salted
you must drink soon from their promised cup.
Strange isn’t it…
How
the deepest of lessons, the broadest of discoveries, the highest of insights
come from the most expected sources – when we take the time to look and really
see; listen and really hear; touch and really feel.
The
lyrics have been waxed enough for today – agreed?
Go
on then!
