"Old George Said Some
Good Stuff Didn’t He?"
Hello

You know how it is when you’re listening to someone whose ideas you enjoy –
don’t you?
Well…
Sometimes it isn’t only their crafted words, which make a difference – reaching
out and saying “Hi there!”
Oft
– it’s their use of other people’s words, the odd quote:
the occasional bon mot; the intermittent metaphor.
That’s the one; or those are the ones to make you and me STOP! In our mentals;
pause for a mo; even a good one and say to whoever is listening inside:
“OOOOOHHHHH – I like it!”
And so as you might…
Expect – there I was listening when such a happening - happened!
And
the quote – for such it was – was from our old friend and quotemeister: George
Bernard Shaw, the Irish playwright of such renown.
He said:
“The
greatest problem of communication is the illusion that it’s been accomplished!”
And
what pure truth there is in those 12 well-connected words.
Have you…
As I
have – made the mistake of thinking just because the sounds drifted forth from
our articulations, just because the stats show the email was opened; just
because the lucky
recipient of our outpoured knowledge – nodded politely…
That
the REAL MESSAGE was received (and understood)?
Have
you made it – I have - times too many to contemplate in 20:20 hindsight. Too
many for comfort for certain, for sure!
But now…
Having been self-reminded of this brave – I must be certain to, at the very
least, ask if my message has been received.
I
must check if all the words and phrases and paragraphs bounced in front of the
intended recipients.
I
must then enquire – as to their understanding of the letters and its singular.
And so…
Did
this one reach you?
Did
it make sense?
Can
you use it?
Go
on then!
