"Is it time for a change?"
Hello
Some years ago a friend of mine sent me a 120+ page report on the exploits of a
man you may never have heard about. The name of this man was: E Haldeman Julius.
I was fascinated...
By the information in the report and just recently; in a clear out; came across
the report again and re-read it.
It reminded me...
Of a very important idea which can be instantly useable by so many people.
Let me tell you about it...
E
Haldeman Julius was the publisher of the ‘Little Blue Books’. These were 3˝ x 5
inches in size - designed to fit in the pocket. They included an eclectic
collection of titles ranging from the classics, carpentry, atheist literature,
home-making skills, and sexuality to history and puzzles.
But his skill was...
In ‘testing’ the titles to see which ones would produce the most sales.
He had, what he called ‘The Hospital’ and he would bring a book into this mental
area to decide what different titles he could use. His research and results are
fascinating.
And using this idea...
He sold over 100,000,000 books. Yes that’s over one hundred million books!
And so...
I
was thinking again as I’d thought before when I first read the report – what
different names could I – not only give to my books – but what different names I
could give to any and all of my products and services.
Could you...
Use this idea too. Perhaps doing a head-to-head test with your marketing to see
which ‘name’ produces the most responses, the most conversions, the most sales –
and of course profits?
Maybe...
If the current ‘title’ is feature-driven – you could change it to
benefit-driven.
If the current ‘title’ is towards-motivated - you could change it to
away-motivated.
If the current title is me-centred - you could change it to you-centred.
If the current title is non-specific - you could change it to have some
verisimilitude – including numbers, details and facts.
If the current title is bland - you could change to have some more razzamatazz
Must go...
Just in the writing of this for you has got my creative juices flowing onto my
keyboard again and they’re already dripping gluppily onto the floor...
Will you take a looky-see at your ‘titles’ and decide if any sparkling changes
can be tested
Go on then...

against
“The

just to see if it makes a difference
