"A Different Date!"
Hello
Just a couple of weekends ago I surprised
myself and hopefully some others when I spoke for 75 minutes; at high speed; at
a conference on the scintillating cash-generating subject of:
“How to Create Informational Products”
Now...
As always, for such sharings, I spent a lot of time getting my thoughts and
ideas and methods into some seemingness of order and deciding the final content
of my session.
And it was...
During this ‘get-it-all-together’ stage – I
realised I’d made a mistake – a serious mistake – one costing me a garden bin of
money!
You see...
As part of my presentation/demonstration
naturally I was going to discuss my monthly audio newsletter: The Achievers Edge
And as I thought...
How I’d explain the income potential of a
newsletter or any other continuity programme – a light bulb suddenly struck me
and I realised I’d probably thrown away a fortune.
In fact...
I dug out my calculator and tapped away
furiously and furious to see how much it was.
It was: £1,397,520
Yes! One point three millions of pounds – and
another ninety seven thousand and another five hundred and twenty.
It’s not often...
I call myself names – and when I do I’m
careful to disassociate in the language patterns I use (more about this another
time) but - you can imagine just how miffed I was.
Let me explain...
Here goes:
If I’d started The Achievers Edge just 5 years
earlier than I did (I started it in 1998) I would have received the extra
£1.397520M!
BUT I DIDN’T START IT THEN!!
And I wondered in my annoyance...
What else I hadn’t started – and more
importantly – what else I could start NOW rather than wait 5 more years
After all...
In 5 years time – I’ll be 5 years older and
why do I need to wait to start anything which might be started – IMMEDIATELY!!
And so...
My questions to you are these:
“Is there anything you've been putting off
which needs starting now?”
“Is there a product or a service you’ve always
said you’d provide – and you still haven’t got round to doing it yet?
“Is there a book you always said you write –
but the first chapter’s first page is still staring at you with empty eyes?”
And if...
You answered “Yes, Peter” to these or any
variations of them – then will you now do something rather than wait?
You will?

Oh goody goody gum drops
You see...
This ‘put-off’ stuff is oft created by
thinking the actions will be hard.
Yet regularly...
A boiled carrot, a ten-foot putt, a whispered
‘I love you’ are seldom as hard as we think they’ll be
Go on then...
