"Talking to Yourself!"
Hello

I
remember going to a seminar where the speaker was Topher Morrison – I really do
like his style and content.
And…
There was something he said which really struck a chord for me, a chord that’s
still ringing its melody some years later.
Recently – the idea he told me - surfaced and this time with a slightly
different meaning as I was questioning myself about certain activities I was
taking.
Wow!
What
a difference when I realized what was happening and knew what to do.
You
see – Topher had said there was a correlation between the degree of disharmony
in a relationship and the amount one party wanted to change the other.
This
made perfect sense to me.
If I
was unhappy with someone – it was probably because I wanted them to change to
fit the picture of them I felt should be a reality. And any discussions,
arguments or disagreements were invariably about our different views of who they
were or
could be.
Does
this make sense?
The insight I had later was…
The
same idea applied to my relationship with the most important person in my life –
namely – me!
And
– any disharmony in my self-dialogue, my self-talk, my silent witnessing – would
be in direct correlation to the difference between:
Who
I knew I could be – and who I was being.
Does
THIS make sense?
So I was thinking…
You
could use this too. Whenever you hear the whisper of doubt, questioning,
challenge in your mind – then maybe a moment to realize if the conversation
you’re having is because of the difference between who you are and who your
inner-self would like (or feel) you could/should/must be.
It’s
a fabulous process and one worthy of regular use – I do like these intelligent
conversations – don’t you?

Go on then...
