"A Cure For Poorness?"
Hello

One
of the best things about airplane travel is the ‘away from it all time’ to sit,
sometimes comfortably, and read and read and read.
I
love reading!
And it seems…
The
more I read the more I want to read.
The
more fascinating stuff I uncover, the more mind-amazing stuff there is to know.
The
more ideas to “do what I do better than before” I paper-dive into – the more
there are still waiting for me to make the jump.
So you can imagine my surprise when…
Enplaned - reading a book on how messages get to stick, intriguingly called
“Made To Stick” I found some inform and ideally placed facts about
research into being betterer –
as I’ve recently heard it called.
Whatever it’s called: being the best, being as good as you and I can be,
excelling at our chosen passion and field of endeavour – it’s good to know there
are still ‘little-known’
methods out there which truly can provide substantial help.
You see…
One
of the research studies reported by Chip and Dan (Heath) the brothers and
authors of MTS – disclosed facts about how people solved problems.
1. When taught ‘problem-solving techniques’ their
subsequent
results were rated as – FAIR
2. When asked to ‘imagine’ how life will be when the
problem
is solved – their subsequent results were also rated – FAIR
3. However when asked to visualize ‘how’ the problem
had
arisen – their subsequent ‘solving results’ were rated far higher.
And so…
If
you and I take this to its emotional conclusion – I think there’s an expression
I can craft, which may become repeatable over time.
Remember – you heard it hear first!
Here
goes:
“If you want to know how to become
rich
just find out why you’re poor!”
Now
that’s a slightly different take on personal development, isn’t it?
Just think…
How
often you and I can use this idea – daily I’d think.
If
we want to be fitter – we simply ‘unpack’ the actions, which led us to be less
than.
If
we want to be faster – let’s find out why we’re slow.
If
we want to be; well; - anything – let’s discover why we’re not.
I
could go on and on with examples but you have the idea, the process, the system
of greater success in anything at all.
“If you want to know how to become
rich
just find out why you’re poor!”
Go
on then!
