"Easily done..."
Hello

It wasn’t the same dinner get-together but a different one.
Friends had travelled some distance to spend a Saturday
evening with us and a late-evening idea turned into action
the very next morning (Sunday)
I
can’t imagine…
We
were going to be hungry but: “Let’s meet up for breakfast”
was agreed upon.
“9
o’clock?” some equally early-riser suggested and I, for one,
immediately agreed.
Some one told me…
There was a new sandwich shop-cum-café operating out of
what had been the post office on the High Street (The Parade)
and I wondered if it might be open on Sunday morning.
Sunday morning seems to be the one time when people DO
go out for breakfast – certainly in my part of the country and
I thought it might be worthwhile just trying somewhere new.
So
at about 8 o’clock I jumped in the car, drove down to café
to see if it was open.
It
wasn’t!
And:
There wasn’t any signage to let me know when it would be open.
Nothing about days of the week, nothing about hours of
opening and closing.
Loads of info about the variety of sandwiches, teas and
coffees on sale – just ‘nothing’ about when I might buy them!
And as you’d expect…
We
DIDN’T go there for breakfast. The 8 of us went to our
usual venue ‘The Mashed Swede’. Breakfast and conversation
were perfect.
Now I know…
I’ve
missed off my address details from an order form. Missed
prices from a direct mail piece and no doubt ‘missed’ loads of
things I’ll never know I missed.
But
– I would have thought letting retail customers know when
your place of business is open – would be one of the key to success,
wouldn’t you?
Just this week…
I
missed two typos in an email I sent – no excuses!
I
must be more vigilant.
Do
you think it might be worth a few minutes to check through
your brochure, website, mailing pieces and any other customer
contact medium just to make sure – everything that should be
there actually is?
Go
on then!
