"Don't Be The One!!"
Hello
It’s
funny – isn’t it?
Just
how much good sense people tell you and me; often with them not even realizing
the difference they’ve made.
There was…
One
such occasion just recently when a good friend came up with a brief comment
which had me slightly blushing
on the inside.
I’m
certain I’d made the mistake far too many times, mind you, it is part of what I
do and who I am.
And…
I
was thinking – I really should share this with you just in case you’ve been
doing it too.
So
- the question is: “Have you been acting as the…
Smartest Person in The Room?
Ooooohhhhh..
I
know I have at times and thinking back – I shudder slightly and wonder just what
I might not have discovered because I was up to my usual role of being
the teacher!
So here’s a way…
To
remember this idea with a short and memorable expression:
“Never Miss A Good Opportunity To Say – Nothing!”
It’s
a good ‘un isn’t it?
Worth saying at least twice:
“Never Miss A Good Opportunity To Say – Nothing!”
And so…
Are
you thinking of times when your tongue rather than your ears ran away with the
spoon – and as you recall such an occasion – are you considering perhaps a
slightly different
approach next time? I am.
So –
why is it – it takes a number of times for life to lift the mallet of
understanding and tap us on the head with it – when surely a good thump first
time around would have the message sink in?
Maybe…
Good
lessons aren’t always learnt with one experience – it takes a few blushes,
hoorahs, and ‘Um I see” ‘s to get the idea to stick within the wiggly bits
upstairs.
So –
off we both go then – willing to surprise the next person we encounter
with our awesome listening skills, able to hold back on those ‘oh so
important’ words we want to utter and of course ready to take every
opportunity – to say nothing.
So
