"Up, Up and Away!"
Hello
In around 2550 BC, the second pharaoh of the fourth dynasty, King Khufu,
commissioned The Great Pyramid.
Those who might know...
About these matters suggest it took 20 years to build and that was after the
ramp to drag up the stones has taken 10 years to construct.
There are about two million blocks of stone weighing an average of 2.5 tons
each! And until just a few years ago it remained the tallest building on earth.
Wow! What an accomplishment!
Now...
I
could go on for hours about the symmetry of the pyramid, the detail of the
interior, the sheer size of the task that faced the ancient builders – I find
the whole subject fascinating – but moving on...
There’s no way...
Those ancients would have built it upside down - pinning their hopes of such a
magnificent structure on a single point. Praying a slight desert zephyr didn’t
pick up strength and speed and topple their success.
And so...
Why is it so many businesses and - people for that matter – nail their dreams to
a single point, a sole way of doing what they do, a solitary means of success.
When...
Surely just like the sensible builders on the Plains of Giza over 4000 years ago
– having some solid and nigh-on immovable blocks at the bottom of any structure
has to increase its potential for lasting success.
Maybe...
In business - this might be different routes to market.
In matters financial – different sources of income
In life – greater stones of knowledge and skills
And so...
Might it be worth a moment or three of thinking about your base?
After all...
Building up from solid bricks has to provide a firm foundation of success
Go on then...
